LatamChange is a modern online currency exchange platform that allows users to conveniently browse real-time exchange rates and place exchange orders before visiting a physical office.

The Challenge

The company approached us with a clear objective: modernize and expand its traditional currency exchange business. Their biggest obstacle was the lack of a centralized, authoritative source of exchange rates that could be applied consistently across all branches and customer touchpoints. Rates were updated manually, leading to operational inefficiencies, inconsistent pricing, and limited ability to scale.

Another major challenge was the absence of digital infrastructure. Customers could not place exchange orders online — all transactions had to be completed in person. This resulted in long queues, slower service, and an overall poor customer experience, especially during peak hours. The business needed to evolve beyond a fully on-site service model to stay competitive in a rapidly digitizing financial environment.

To support growth, the company required an integrated solution that would automate rate management, unify data across all offices, and enable customers to interact with the business online. This meant introducing real-time rate updates, digital order creation, and seamless synchronization between the website and physical branches, effectively transforming the service into a modern hybrid online + offline experience.

They needed a system that would:

  • Fetch and unify exchange rates from an authoritative source (XE.com)
  • Centralize all rates into a single internal management system
  • Allow customers to browse rates online with full transparency
  • Enable users to create exchange orders before arriving at the office
  • Seamlessly connect online reservation workflows with in-office operations

Our Result

We began by building a centralized exchange rates engine that automatically retrieves live rates from XE.com, normalizes the data, and stores it in a unified internal database. This system applies markups, synchronizes rates on a schedule, and provides an administrative interface for adjustments.

Next, we developed a customer-facing web platform that allows users to browse real-time rates in a clear and intuitive interface. Customers can select the currencies they wish to exchange, specify the amount, view the calculated value instantly, and proceed to create an online exchange order.

We also implemented an online exchange order reservation system, enabling users to submit their order details in advance. Each reservation generates a unique code stored securely within the system. When customers visit the office, staff members can instantly retrieve the reservation, verify the details, and complete the exchange quickly, significantly reducing wait times and improving the in-person experience.

To support the operational side, we integrated the online system with the company’s internal office tools. Staff members receive access to a dedicated dashboard for tracking pending orders, managing order statuses, and processing customer information. This integration created a smooth and efficient workflow that bridges the gap between online preparation and in-person service.

Finally, we ensured that the entire platform is fully mobile-optimized, allowing customers to browse rates and place reservations conveniently from their smartphones. This accessibility transformed the service into a modern, hybrid online + offline experience that meets the expectations of today’s users.
